I approached this task by firstly finding an arrangement in my studio and sketched the entire view this allowed me to figure out the scale should be a lot bigger to allow me to paint the smaller details from this first sketch I knew not to draw the drawers and in preparation

My next preparation sketches are of the pine cone. It’s a linear drawing, I created it with some tonal qualities which allow me to see the shape, contours, contrasts and tonal areas of the pine cone. This sketch allowed me to see that it may be a bit too complicated and for simplicity of this task. I will choose a different subject to sit with the teapot.

adding a glass diffuser and putting objects on Top of a silk fabric allows me to create a warmer drawing subject created a tonal drawing of the entire still life this allows me to see the main focus of my exercise the fabric adds colour and warmth to the image um this helps me assess how I will paint each subject and it’s a way to future prepare for monochrome paintings

I created a pencil outline of my chosen subject this would be the way I word prepare for paint application on canvas it shows the linear qualities and gives me a base to start on

my next preparation image is a painted version allowing me to create mixes of pain that will help me create my final image as you can see I used to water down mix of paint to create the initial image then used thicker mixes of paint to define the image this layer in technique helps keep me focused on the details of the image

I have created a small detail linear drawing of the decorative details on the teapot as this is something Kai avoided painting in the previous task I feel that it will be a complicated area of the painting doing this style of drawing allows me to really focus on the pattern as a solid piece which I can use to help keep my work accurate too it truthful form.
